The week was crap. Too many un-enjoyable things happening and with that the crummy feelings that go with all of it. Good thing I got my panel for the open technician position.. bad news is that it was a very strange compilation. I read, re-read, re-read again all of the selections. I have to re vamp my interview questions to fit this panel and I have to make some calls. Then set up some interviews. This part isn't bad but with so much other stuff going on it makes it ragged .. its all I can think of.
Then comes the weekend........
What was supposed to be a rather nice day Sunday....and after a crappy Saturday I was hoping to get to fly but between the body not feeling right, weird winds, and a few other frustrations it was better to just stay on the ground. Mo got to fly instead. We had enough crew for one good balloon but too few for two anyways.
He got up after most of the others left and his flight was not the same as theirs. Most went up.. got pulled West then went up more and got the fast 26 mph North and off they went.. gone... Mo went up.. slowed down.. went North... dropped back down and went South West and pretty much piddled around the undulating hillocks and arroyos and then landed nicely and slowly in the large arroyo just South of Southern.
We chased and took pictures and had a merry ole time trying not to get stuck in sand nor fall in a deep crevass or head down a dirt track that you could not back out of... but it did turn out just fine. Lots of pictures and video from the Kodak 360 cam on-board. Landed over a bit of brush, a choya and then dragged to a stop.
4low to go through the sandy arroyo bottom but no worries there. Packed up and headed home. Dumped all the pics and video and then adjust a few due to loss of depth or color.

Yeah it was a lot of fun to chase. Would have been more fun to fly but it was not my day today. Maybe Tuesday will be fun for me. It darn well should be as we are flying next to a new balloon system which is always a treat.
Work tomorrow with a two hour release I may not be able to use but Tuesday is the 4th and a holiday so I will be out and home and flying... fingers crossed.
