For the time being I will only post a few things that I found interesting or caught my attention or happened that highlighted my day. Ill add photographs, taken, edited or not and what ever else I think is fun. Less structure all around.
Yesterday we flew Patturns Highperactive from Rainbow field in Rio Rancho. Other than the huge puddles everywhere due to the large and wet storm that went through the night before it was good and cool. Sadly it was also very humid after the sun came up. Humidity causes heavier air which is harder to get up into with a balloon.
I had three GoPro cameras attached. Two at the balloon / burner frame connection and one at the waist or bolster of the basket. We were about the fourth to set up but even with the fan on half power we also were the first to launch. Up, South as predicted but about 900 to 1000 feet up there was a slip stream of North. We grabbed that as best possible and moved off. Too bad there was no East or we could have landed back where we took off from.
All in all a good day which allowed for three hops, three people flown, two new people, lots of rotation, great ascents and descents, fun landings, one cacti into a crew member...Sorry bout that. I had the DSLR along. Took pictures when I knew it was safe to do it. Its a very fine line there. Below are some edited shots as well as the link to the multi clipped video of the flight. Like I said..lots of fun.
The link to the video. Videos are fun to make...mostly. This one was hard because there were so many good segments to use but without using a split screen you miss a lot. I took this one and split out exactly the same time frame blocks in line then selected each section I thought was fun. Finding the music is always the hardest thing. It worked...
