Change it up.

I am changing the way I set my blog. From now until I feel like changing it again it will be different. Did you get that?

Tried get get up in the air today. No such luck. Waled out to load all the equipment into the basket and there was a breeze. Okay, that's fine. Finished that up, packed food and snacks and headed out. Stopped at Starbucks for a once n 6 month overpriced coffee. Got to the launch area about 15 minutes early... No biggie... unless I was in the wrong place, but then everyone else showed up. The the wind showed up and made us all dirt kickers. It took an hour before we decided to give it up and just eat and drinking. Nice conversations and it went from there. About an hour and a half later we packed up and went home. Before that I did get one of my friends to stand for a picture in a specific way. He went father and that picture is the one I used. It will be below. After all that non flying the back flared up so that was the end of that. Some guys are going out tomorrow but I just cant do it. Probably try next Saturday or the Saturday after that.

I made mention of decompiling an envelope on screen and seeing how it would look. I thought it would take quite a while to do. Yes, it took a long time to do.Did it work well... Kinda. I think I really would have to pull it apart gore by gore to get it right. Also below are some other funny things. Listening to Tina Dico on Youtube. Amazing voice, sadly not enough good songs for her. Like Kimbra in Home, When she hits it she hits it hard.. when its a softball song it falls to the floor. On the editing.... I keep trying things to see what works and what wont. I don't know exactly why...  Its all grist for the mill..... Trouble at mill.....

Try looking up livestock trough on the internet.. some things just suck to try and find.

Love this edit. So here ya go again.

Looking into the mick swirl in my tea cup, eddies and curls, depth and hidden agendas. Did John and Lillian have a hidden purpose or are the the innocent people who happened across my path. Do they want something or nothing. Did the book want something, well yes... What about whatever knocked me over the head way back... and why is this dusky woman always showing up at the most inopportune times and with pale lips touch the soul of it all and send shivers from the core. Such a wanting there. Like that wonderful honey and bun in front of me on the table... Delicious and right within reach but will the teeth of the trap snap shut just as its touched? Is it the grass is always greener syndrome or what. I keep coming back to the idea that to really touch and in touching that lose it forever. Is it better to just observe and not change the reality? Is it worth the pain and trouble. Both ways? What do you do with years of longing? Better to just erase you mind and start from scratch. Clear it and clear the stabbings and tears. No direction.... Looking up into old and tired eyes... the nodding... The years of wisdom....

Oh.. and just to poke the rabbit.....

And to hold to my 3,5,7,9,11 superstition..

If you refuse to see.

After a few bites and sips as it were all of us were pretty relaxed. John in a soft but direct manner said “ So you never did say why you were on the cliff at that point. You did know that that part has been told off due to the instability right?” With lifted eyebrow on his side, “ No, never heard about it.” Oh so you didn't see the markings on the grass where the dogs met you then nor the constable?” No, missed that too.” Very good eyes on you too, hah!” Oh John, you are a quick one with it aren't you. It so happens I have no clue as how I ended up there. I did sit for a while on the grass so I might have been hidden from his eyes. No clue though.” “No idea how you got there…. Dropped in front heaven now?” Lillian pokes him in the ribs” be still John, you are being rude again.” Myself, reaching for  another muffin, “ Well I am glad he did come along as I was going to just walk down the edge until I found somewhere to get a good cup of tea. Seems I found an excellent cup by way of John. Turning to John and bowing my head slightly then to the dogs also, Thank you all. Not that I think that would have solved anything but the stop at the end would have been irritating and doubtful I would have learned nothing.”

Nothing like having to reboot your computer multiple times to clear it from lagging like a crazy person. It hates when I multi task with my windows. Bouncing from Email to excel sheet to word doc and back drives it to distraction. Sorry.. I am trying to get more work done in a shorter amount of time. I hate waiting for one program to finish processing, I have to go do something else. Is it just me? Its a rather new PC though. My surface is faster and more able to handle multiple inputs and programs at one time. I think I could now replace my office PC with just a surface and a dock. I would want two larger screens though. It might be the future if this keeps dragging down. A friend mentioned how behind the gov was in software and hardware… well kinda.. hamstrung is more like it. Its hard to describe. Better/Worse.

Since I am getting everything ready to go ballooning tomorrow morning and I intend to do so unless its stupid out I am going to be going quickly today with the shots. Pardon the errors or mi-spellings and grammar and sentence construction and crayon outside the lines.... Pardon Moi! Reminds me that I can remember being harassed because I crayoned the outside of the pictures instead of inside. Ridiculous! Here are some I ran through last night. The others I did I have lost in my files somewhere. Funny how that's possible.

These will have to do for now.

I worked on the computers that rode in this plane. Since then they have upgraded it like crazy....

Here is a good idea, completely destroyed by the nuts behind it. Dissociation with reality is all I can think. Wonderful car that they are going to price so far up in the clouds that no one will buy it.. Why when you can get a BMW, Mercedes, Porche for less...

This cracks me up because it is what it is... plus.. what art is now is not in the eyes of the beholder but in the pockets of the rich and stupid... sorry famouse. Yes I spelled it incorrectly. You now can sell SH*# for millions. Sadly good artists are not shown because they are not.. IN! Screw em.. Like what you like.

This is so off the mark... I think the nut who wrote it is insane... None of these shows caused me a moments notice or warped my life in any way.. If your vapid and single celled maybe....

I really shouldn't post it it is so sad...

I was going to poke my artist friend again here... and she deserves to be poked... but I shan't.

Open your eyes!

PS I am going to shuffle the blog a bit soon so hold your shorts.

Moog Point.

When Lillian turned around again her hands had warmed biscuits, or as they are called in the real world, muffins. With a pot of honey which if I didn't know better was fresh. "Fresh?"I asked, poking a finger at the little porcelain pot. "Oh, yes...nothing better for what aisles you as much as better all round." Not beating John with a reach for the spoon......him smiling as he is given a stern look right over my head, which he deftly deflected by ignoring it completely. I waited my turn, slapped a nice bit of fresh butter on a split muffin and once my benefactor and speedy new friend was done, dressed mine as well. All this going on while the dogs slipped over for some chopped snacks in bowls by the edge of the ice box. Snuffles...oh that's me... Munching from the dogs slight to the ear as Lillian sat down neatly knocking Johns elbow off the table. I like these people.

Half day today. I did get a lot done around many phone calls, emails, conversations and general interesting interruptions. Water and a pretzel before driving from south east to northwest. Waiting and writing is a way to pass the time. I set up my umpteenth list of things to do. This was a comprehensive plan to relocate fish, plants, pond lights and either completely erase the old haphazard, mint choked pond area with a more neat and well kept as well as easier to maintain pond. Many steps but broken down into small steps. Progression without the overpowering tons of everything at once. I have to rearrange a few things still but nothing feels better than having a plan.

Last night while wondering where the time went ( forgot I worked 2 1/2 hours late ) I set up a travel photography outing up with friends. Just a day trip up to Taos vie Embudu. There is a guy who has set up an informal conglomeration of old signs, lights, oil stands, bed springs and such ala museum to the rusted and really relaxed. We will stop there then up to Taos to have lunch and photograph stuff there then cruise back to Albuquerque through the waning sun and rolling clouds. Its rather a nice trip and I have taken it many times but never leisurely. What I was pushing last night.

So working on the tall poster style shots. Fun to do as much as the others plus its different in a different way.

How many times can I change things around and around. We shall see....

Links I found.. There were a lot out there but well.. some were interesting. Some I cant post here sorry.

A little something.

“welcome, welcome” in a sweet contralto voice. There's a story back there somewhere. John Introduces the spry and willowy woman as his wife of 60 years as Lillian. Not being a bore myself I have to respond in kind. “ Lillian, a very good morning to know you. Granted I was swayed first by the promise of tea and honey biscuits but now that I have seen the glow within this home I feel that the honey will pale.”
John quips quickly as we sit down at the table, neat with blue and white checkers tablecloth and napkins..” Oh you will get on her best side and then I'll have nout of either!” With laughter from all of us and a return of boisterous from the dogs we all stop, look at each other and broad smiles show again. Reaching down to scratch one nape and relax as Lillian starts to pour a wonderfully heady stream of tea into the cup before me…. The fumes awaken me as if I had been sleeping… John with that know all knowing smile taps the side of his nose……

Coding!  Not really but darned if it don't look like it. I ran a full text print of the massive accounts. Screaming across the screen with o many “,””,” its like the chickens got loose and have been eating … oh that's just stupid… its very interesting in a context of pattern recognition. Almost like a code that's not real a code. If you line up each of the lines of odd and rambling letters numbers and little (^$$)%><:” you create a picture you can only see if you unfocus your eyes. That s a pretty good code. If you know where the lineage and how much to intent or shift you can read the message but impossible for a computer to decipher… because its a picture not a set of words.. most interesting….. Oh and Zombies last night… What's up with that?

Last night I started editing for basic 5 x 7 or 8 x 10 framing. I fiddled around and then revisited some shots that might just work as poster sized or postcard sized prints… I kinda like it.     I could put these up on my wall.   As you will see form the edits below.. I tried another treatment. I'll. Explain as I show them. Keep pushing for that thing. I will be printing a lot out for the convention coming up that I want to go and sell them at. I am going to DOA few huge ones just to get a reaction… Plus some for auction… Sees how they go.. Running out of time though.

From one ugly old worn poster to cool.

Shilly Shally

With the dogs running ahead and us poor two legged creatures bearing up after the last rush of up and back and up and back of the four legs.. mainly because they couldn't open the door I think. I doubt they would have waited if they could. It was a nice green door too. I like green doors. Not your standard put up in a week home either. Heavy thatch and chains hanging to hold it from the winds. Couple of years on it. Heavy field stone walls that are nicely squared on the corners. Two four light windows on this side with bushes crowding the edges of the bottoms, trimmed a while ago. John reached for the flip thumb and clicked it up with a "Lass, see who I've brought in from the cliff. " Dogs nudging their way in and opening the door to a warm fire, cozy chairs and table and a wizened lovely looking woman. Reminds me of my Fathers Mother... oddly....

Early to wake, early to rise, makes a man healthy and wealthy and wise. I got up about half past five in the morning. Brain went directly into criticizing me for everything under the moon... Sun wasn't up yet. I figured that if I was going to go four round in the ring I might as well start the day. Not a bad choice as it worked out. Quickly I was in, done, dressed, coffee and on the road. Traffic was light and only a couple of fools to deal with. Work was if not quiet ( I had music playing loudly as I was the only one in today ), it was productive. Good news on a blockaide. Not cleared but adjusted for now. Filing got done on the first level and also rearranging happened. A few problems with a radar whos name shall be changed to protect the innocent.. or not mentioned at all. Good visit and thoughts run out. No luck at urgent care. Far too many standing people for me to want to waste a few tired doctors last hours whining. I will go in the morning early and see if I can get in and out quickly.

While futzing last night on how to deal with non standard photographs I worked a few things out. I am not happy that there is a standard. I want 10 by 10 and 12 by 12 and 20 by 20... not 8 by 10, 5 by 7.. BORING!! So what I am doing is creating the squared shots into a standard framed shot so if a person wants to they can cut the back out and mount it the way it should be mounted. I always created these to be 20 inches by 20 inches or larger. I wanted wall sized art. I am going to tonight work on some poster sized edits. Just to see what happens. I also have to get back to the photographs I took over the weekend. So many out there and the shots I have shown are not even the best of the nest... just the ones that were highlights. Gotta do that too... How bout a do one poster and get back to the other shots... Yes .. that will work.... Here are four slightly different takes... Oh and I screwed up the titling on a couple.. I have to fix that.

Like huge warn off signs to any aliens cruising the waves.. go away.. sweep sweep… crazy peoples!

The cyber war started ages ago. Sadly the powerful have corrupted it by also attacking those they would protect. Go Stupid! And the Chinese… slow on the uptake.

I love my surface. It has replaced both towers I made. Not due to speed as much as availability and function. Will I buy the Surface 3? Probably not. Why? Price. Freakin thing is expensive for what little upgrades while will make me have to pay for more accessories… so No…. Drop 500 and maybe.

Another great idea… but flip it.. Move apartments down here with directed real lighting and gardens and parks and remove the stuff from above and make more gardens and parks.

Off I go... Into the green tall grasses.... up to my knees in the mud.... ( Sung to the Air Force song ).

Follow your dreams.. even if they are muddled.

Kicking up the white crushed rock on the pathway, looking towards the hearth fire smoke rising from the sparse houses hidden by the intervening trees brings back memories of childhood romps in the underbrush, hiding in pill boxes alongside the road. Sneaking around in the fields of barley, popping heads up to see if you can sky someone before they spy you. John pipes up with a lilt to his voice, "You could be leagues away if you shoes weren't planted to the ground." I can feel the corners of my mouth turning up " You have no clue how close you are. But this walk with you is just as nice as I could ask for." "Oh ah." comes bubbling from out his grinning face. "Just round the bend here is my little spot of home. I put the kettle on the fire before running the boys out. Biscuits and honey as we I expect." "I would never say no to a good biscuit....honey or not.."

Day 1,237,335,565.248972344523097234552 of half sleep and back pain and what have you attached to those fun things. Dreams of wicked hounds from a Laumer book running around my fore-brain chasing down misfiring cells. So,no third day of ballooning. Could not get there and if I could, would not be of use to much of anything. I do have the 1000+ shots to play with though. The delay from getting up in the morning, racing to the morning brief then taking pictures then having to leave to download process and edit just takes too much time. If I had a room at the hotel then I could bring my computer rig there and download while I was doing other things then post edit and print for the competitors right on the spot. I also would not be unable to get there the next day as I would already be there. I may have to mention that to somebody for next year.

Edits today... I did four with a yellow background only as the baggies that were being thrown were yellow. I decided I wanted to black and white them too just for S's & G's. They turned out fine. So I used three different edits in one edit. After that I had to get my poor aching back out and buy foods for the house. I did that and got fuel for my fan. Hopefully next weekend I can get my balloon out and fly. I posted those black and whites to Facebook and also on return did four more specific for upward 3d pseudo view. They also turned out well. I used a different lighting effect this time. Check em out.

Not easy to do but darn fun to work them out.

Links if I can find any........

I dunno how I feel about this.

Nice bit of information here.

Why does this not surprise me. You want to see what happens when man trys to tweak mother nature... hahaha... fools....

Last but ...well last..but cool..

Working on my plan... Okay.. maybe its a sketch.. or a tissue with crayon on it....

Wrinkles in time.

Both yiping and barking dogs run rings round me bounding without hitting and wufling to a slower past. The old guy is slowing up as soon as he sees the dogs playing... "Oi! I had thought the had lost their minds! Never have the run off before Gov'nr! I am sorry." "No sorry or apology necessary sir as they have done nothing but have a bit of fun on both of us." I am laughing. The dogs now come closer and push their noses in each of my hands. Scratching both their heads and ears just makes them nudge up against us both. " John is my name sir. Never seen you round these parts before. Hoping the lads haven't gotten any mud on your fine clothing.." "John! Not at all, they are good boys. If I could be as happy. Is there a pub or home around I can get a cup of tea at?" John grins wide showing a few missing teeth but happy none the less...

Day 2 of the Rio Grande Classic Balloon Competition. From the point of my camera it was a total fun fest. Something like 1700 shots. Many copies but many more great captures. It took ages to download the process them using two computers. I just finished. No chance to go back for BBQ. Ran two video cams and the take was okay. Not because of the Pilots but the flights were mellow. They probably will make good speeded up video later. That took two hours. I even cooked my usb hub a bit getting things through it. Novel. I did take some shots I love but they will take time to clean up enough to show. Not because the picture is bad but the light was dicey. I was shooting into the sun more than anything and that causes many problems. I even did a few panos.

Below are a few.. a very few I did a quick tone on. In almost every one the tone did the opposite and caused more lighting problems. It looks like no toning but light will do. Ill explain each of the shots as you see them. Its not looking good for tomorrow for a couple things. One... the weather has turned bad again...and I feel like I was run over. We shall see if I can even get out of bed once I get into bed. Blah!

Krispy Kreme.. love them. This is a paint 4 tone. okay but yellow as heck.

Directly into the sun. Toned to enhance the basket and Pilot and passenger. Anything more and it went ugly.

Sun was hot and this should have been nice in any tone but it was bad in the shadows. Toned vibrant.

My favorite of the day. Toned a titch. Its just grabbing.

Rain and thunder.. rain till tomorrow evening.. What is the deal with the rain THIS weekend?

Teaching and Learning.

Getting to my feet and brushing my pants clear of the clinging grass, turning and one last look at the sea, its hike to a place with the infamous tea! At least I am dressed for the weather since I am still wearing the clothes of that nice warm London hotel room. After about ten minutes I can see an old man with soft cap and cardigan of gray and green slowly walking along the hedge row about one hundred yards in front of me. We should intersect in a few moments. Just as I come to that conclusion, two big shaggy dogs bolt from the other side of the hedgeway. Running straight towards me yipping and racing each other.... And not a damn stick or stone in sight.....

From a night of non sleep to an early morning of waiting. First day of the Rio Grande Classic / Top Gun Ballooning competition turned to a quiet and brisk blowy snorkley day. Luckily I had my coffee and it was quiet driving into Rio Rancho. Setting aside that almost everyone in the house is affected by something, from broken ribs to bronchitis to this damned sinus head thing.... it was interesting. Lot of people to talk to and also some possible good shots. Not sure yet since I didn't dump them today. After returning to the house I again sat and got stuck on one photograph. Decided that it needed some messing with. Messed with it then posted it to facebook. I learned a few things while doing it. Its not bad but it could be much better.

Almost every time I do a edit or mod I figure out how to do it better. I do need to write this stuff down. Remember I was going to tel you how to create the psudo 3d shot edits. Never mind. Its too hard to sit here and tell you how to do it not knowing the shot you choose or the pixel level and size. There are too many conditioners while doing it. Maybe I can give a course on it. That would be pretty easy. Simple outline and a computer with a large screen or projector. Maybe Ill advertise it. So many directions, so little time and help. I will post the shot I was going to use as an example finished below with some others.

Multiple layer, effects. Dunno if I really like it.

This is the shot I was working with for teaching psudo 3d edits. It may not be the best choice.

And another version with a slightly different edit. Hmmmm..

I do not have a clue what this is from but it made me laugh so much I had to add it.

Its the timing. I fiddled with this one and never finished it....

My motto for the weekend.
