July 10th with a little of the 9th thrown in... FIRST!

Ahh.. I need another day.... Ballooning two days in a row... I am feeling ever year past 22. But it was totally worth it. The saying .. you can sleep when your dead is a functional axiom for balloonists.

A nice edit of the Inside of my balloon cold.

So we started out this weekend going out to the West side of the Albuquerque / Rio Rancho area to fly two new friends. I love the crew who came out..many of them and their kids which was excellent! We had bunches and many hands makes light work... The flying was fantastic. My son flew the two new to ballooning and we had three cameras on him. One 360 degree Kodak and two GoPros...one of which failed right after launch. Go figure. Oh.. and I set the trapeze cam mount up and we got some good video from it. I have yet to edit it into anything so far. ..too busy... so Saturday flying went great.. Sunday was the Monthly AAAA meet, this time on Fiesta field. Lots of balloons.. lots of people. I went out to shoot for the CB and myself and I had a in the middle photo shoot of all the kids who were at balloon camp this week. I tried to not be intrusive but catch them doing balloon stuff... a lot of shots of them going off with their pilot trainers and then a bunch as a group around the Sid Cutter memorial statue... which turned out very nice even though I was shooting into the sun.

Whew!

So I took about 300 shots Saturday but I took over a thousand today. I had to take a lot of shots of the peoples as I didnt know which would be the best and I wanted many to choose from. That really was about 600 from the standard lens and about 400 from the fisheye... of which I have not looked at yet but I feel they are going to be wonderful. My favorite shot today was a quick idea to shoot the eye of a mounted patrol horse and try and capture a balloon in it.. I did.. it was sweet.. Going to have to do some more of that.. oh yes.... So below some shots.

Patturns Highperactive cutting down the arroyo with the wind.

PH baffled. Highperactive has a baffle about half way down the envelope to help keep the hot air up in the top. Its color coded to the balloon by Lindstrand USA. A one of a kind request.

They are having way too good a time up there. See the trapeze cam behind them. It was a bit too low.

A nice landing and now the packing away starts. Brian unhooking the throat from the burner frame. So many free range children around..LOL

All up on the shoulder and into the bag. Nice soft grasses.. if a bit too dry.

Todays favs... just a few of the many.. and many I have yet to clean up.

He didnt mind me getting up close for the shot though he did head butt me a few times just because he needed a scratch. Very nice model horsie.

Bags in Repose. Prepare to be opened!

When that many balloons show up many many people gravitate to the field to watch. These fold stayed on the tarmac even though they could have gone out on the field. They had as good a view as I did.

The HARE!!! Keith L does a fine job of dragging his tail outward bound so the other balloons can chase him. I didnt hear if anyone made it to him as the winds were completely weird again.

Crown line junkies. You can hold it you can U it around your butt but never wrap a rope around a hand, arm or leg, or waist or local unsuspecting person. It never is good.. always bad. They are steadying the envelopes as they are inflating.

Just a few ... I will post more to FB today and more tomorrow as I get into the side shots and more after that of the fisheye shots. Those will be interesting.

Fallout 4... game is glitching a lot with no mods active. Getting frustrating.

Enough of that.

Yes I know someone who is glad of that.

LOLOL

Have a great week. Almost two weeks into July already and August and September are right there waving.
