Light and Dark

Round and round.

Almost got run over three times today. If it wasn't so nice out I would have hidden in my cube all day. There was even a winner who decided to make a U turn over the median on a four lane road while traffic ( including me ) was hurling down in that area... Wonderfully moronic.

Other than that it was alarms, warm temps, prepping and paperwork. There seems to be a dearth of road construction going on.. seems on every road I need to take to get to work. No not just one or two but four! I really need to look into telecommuting one or two days a week. I would do tues/ Thur or Wed/ Thur or Tues / Wed... Just stop with the dumb construction everywhere thing. How bout just shutting down one at a time thanks.

Light and Dark.

To other better subjects is the neat light and dark in and around the plaza Sunday. Not that I was specifically looking for the contrast than it was there saying Hay! Above is a sample. The flowers and some leaves were in light and the remainder was in shadow or darkness. Other than a bit of a miss on the focus.. due to my holding the camera very low and focussing from there it locked on a bit to the left but still a good shot.

Others that I didn't crop which also were nice to my eye.

Buds.

 They were in the sunlight but everything else was darn beyond. Worked very nice.

Pinked.

 This turned out great since the focus locked on the pink flowers behind the first line of darkened stems.

Two Blooms.

 Peachness in touching light. Wonderful colors just twinned in the light. Must have been the timing.

Fooled ya.. In full light.

The blooms casting shadows on the stems. Boldly standing there.

It all worked and since there were few very nice full flowers without burned edges or bugs all over them it was a good capture. A few others that are co located with other things but not just standing there alone like these.

The lens works very nicely to cause the defocusing of the backgrounds just enough. A prime lens would make it easier to do but then I would lose the ability to zoom in from across the street. Trade offs....always trade offs.

I will have to see if I picked up any other types of contrasty shots...

I'm not exactly sure what Dead Betty's store has in it but I am also not sure I want to know. I got a kick out of the cement cat on the roof.

Da berd. Saw the sign and edited it for my own use. The original looks nothing like this but I found an itty bit of it I liked. Yes I could have created it myself easily but it is a pointer to someone else finding out where I got it from and perhaps checking the place out instead of no subliminally having to tell you to go check it out.

Flicker flicker.

Now.. I must find things .... Oh.. Yes... there were interesting things on the nets but I didnt save them because I had to reboot and that wiped the nets.. one of them was a full video of a mirror in a jungle and the animals that stumbled upon it. GOrillas postured and charged.. one.. which is my favorite was a puma or tiger or something.. it was on top of the mirror.. then fell off in front.. that would be me.
