50mm prime!

Yay! Prime lens came in today! For such a relatively cheap price its an awesome piece of glass. I am so set in my ways that I did in fact try to soom with it right away. Yeah.. not happening. Nice that you can spin the focus ring and it does nothing but smoothly rotate when you are set to M/A auto focus. That is very nice.

A crop of one of the first shots with it... wow.. having to move forward and backward if funky. Really I had to move backwards first because I thought or felt like I needed to be closer before my eye hit the viewfinder. So backing away then looking at how far I was for minimum focal length is about 12 to 18 inches. Not too bad. No strange darkening in the corners and no funny color shifts.. Prime!

I left work and stopped in a few places for a bunch of different tests. It was worth the time and having to deal with traffic and strange looks. Why do you look at me weird when I am in a place people take pictures of all the time.. so strange. I even took a few sitting in the truck to see how that came out with low light sources and all. Check it out...

Littlefuzzys

Zoomed in you can see every little fuzzy tendril.. or what ever they are called. Funky plant.

That was fun. Out of 76 shots, and I had to set the cam back to single slow because the shutter wanted to go quickly. The Bokeh is excellent. I can see using this lens for in house, no flash shots as well as natural shots. Grand!

Since the day was a little off with a new printer failing to get past the post, which means reordering it and waiting and replacing and repackaging and reshipping and real pain in the neck.... I did enjoy my visit and got some things to order that will be enjoyed... its good to build up a computer so that its useful instead of just barely making it.... that is fun. Tomorrow is Friday and I am looking forward to getting to work and doing some things..... yep! I really want to work on Friday. I am lucky that way.
