The art of getting into a river without touching either bank of said river.
Balloonists can... if they are real, real good Pilots maneuver their balloon, down past the trees and into the river / lake / pond / waterway and lightly ( or not ) touch the surface and glide along as if it were a sailboat or other flat bottomed conveyance.
Sometimes that aint workin!
And the Pilot misjudges ( very easy to do ) the surface of the water and tries to be come a submarine!

The Pilot while skimming the surface must still keep the balloon up or buoyant If he fails to do this he can have his balloon and envelope eaten by the river. If he is not sharp the breeze or the winds will push him into the trees on the banks. Both are bad... bad, very bad.
Most Pilots are smart enough to not let this happen.
