Patturns Of Highperactivity: Cheerio's

Why is a, a, a non electric typewriter typing by itself! Why am I wondering why after everything around me going nutso crazy. Is it me? Or.. more plausible... it must be the dark haired woman doing the hoo doo to me somehow. Maybe it was a mickey slipped into a drink I drank.. when was the last time I drank ...... anything..... My mouth tastes like an old sneaker... what the heck is a sneaker... a plimsoll? A, a, a... track shoe....? Leaning forward toward the very amazingly self operating auto typing machine.. I can just make out some characters on the grayish purple paper. what the hell? zkzkzk..... stepping across and grabbing the page on the top and pulling it out of the roller...zzzpppppp..... and hopping back to squat against the bottom of the ticket booth slash office of lost paperwork... I can just make out the rest after the strange zk stuff....

Now the day today went amazingly, stunningly, outrageously well. We left the house and headed for Starbucks for the requisite coffee on the way down to Los Lunas. We arrived about 30 minutes early, which is amazing. Sipping and waiting for everyone else to show up. This was the regular place we fly new balloons from. Veterans Park in Los Lunas. Its out in the middle of nowhere and a good place to fly if your not sure where you are going to go. Everyone else showed up in the main family. Bob, Keith Eric and myself with many many crew friends. Since the crew are the most important part of ballooning ( no crew real hard to fly ) it was wonderful so many veteran balloonists made it down. We did this once before in Albuquerque. Or Really Rio Rancho with Kiss A Hoy, Takach A Breeze, Mass Confusion and Zepherus Kiss. Now only one balloon is an original. So we got ready and stood up and many pictures were taken. Many.

I also hooked a vid cam on Eric and one on a long bar on my balloon. Off we went and hopped over each other and went around each other and under one another and landed, swapped out passengers and went up again. Winds were very variable. Very. At one point I was chasing right behind Bob and we were both at the same height but we were going in two different directions. Wild. Landing, swapping out passengers and jumping back up into the sky after Bob again while spiraling widdershins ( which was totally freaky ) up to altitude we wandered off East. What winds there were died to a trickle so we started looking for a place to land. Decided to go over a school and land on the other side near a road.

Yeah... we tacked all the way there very slowly. We even floated down to the ground on the football field just because we could. Up and over the school and then down into the arms of the crew who walked us to the road. We laid out and packed her up nice and sweet. Max temp 168 degrees F and 1 hour and 40 mins in the sky. 25 % fuel left. Not bad for the amount of spinning and venting we did. I even got us going down at 1000 fpm but had to slow down quickly so we didn't smack the ground. Then it was a party at Jan's until it was either sleep there or get home. Its about 45 minutes from there to my house. Dumping vid and pics and then editing the video for Eric. Uploading to the web site now. I will put in a link tomorrow to it. Only three other videos to do now...hahaha. Tomorrow out to see a good friend inflate his balloon for the first time. Nice.
