Such a nice day. Then stupidity shows up and that has to be dealt with when all we wanted was a quiet day and some peace. Nope. Gotta do a lot of things that were unnecessary and if some people would think.. use their tiny brains and do their jobs I would still be peaceful. Sigh.
Well I did look over the videos I shot during the Latest Fiesta. It was one of the most fun flying fiestas I have had short of 2008. Winds were funky but flyable and interesting. I did get one main fun think off my list and that was landing in an arroyo. I also got two spash and dashes in the Rio Grande in. Could have been three but then i would probably have had to do a high speed landing on the West side and I was rather liking the fun landing I had already had so vetoed that.
I have posted one video to the website... http://invisibleblack.zenfolio.com/p715442282#h23d049f0
Its a quick outtake of the first part of a flight. The camera was shooting upwards and caught the balloon overhead with their wild everywhere flights. Its about ten minutes of video crunched to two minutes.
I have another processing now but it wont be done till later. It is the first video I shot using the LINDSTRANDUSA.com crown camera mount. I had the cam pointed a little too far downward but its still an interesting view. It is accelerated also. One thing I didn't do this year was automatically spin the balloon around in a circle. I wanted to conserve fuel in case I needed it later. It took some fun out but you can see where I was adjusting myself in the second video.
Here are some of the outtake shots clipped out of this day of flying.
Launch over traffic.
Avoid the Dead Cat ( 1Down8ToGo )
More traffic coming up at us. Up and over.
Bear? XX!
Run the River... go past far enough to descend without hitting a red zone then drop over the tree tops to the river.
Wavelets of our touching the water. It was about an inch deep at this point. I have to get my basket washed.
Out of the river. Out to the West... Down and around this pretty purple balloon. Hi there!
We landed just where the other balloons had. Had to park and wait for space to drop the envelope though.
All clipped out of the video. More to come.
Here are some links to think about.
