Westside Sky Dancing and Fallout 4 still

What a weekend... and what a day. Let me skip to today as it was the best. Started out with another try to fly Nick for his birthday. Last weekend we sat and kicked dirt. Today we went out and there was some breeze but it was pretty nice.. sadly going the one direction we really don't like to fly due to congestion and many many power lines. So.... we decided to go up and see if it was possible to find something up there going a different direction. We also had a new mount from to try out. Its a trapez type connected to the envelope by magnets so that if it got hung up it would pull off. Yeah.. lose the camera but save other damage. It worked a treat but I forgot the allen wrench to get it set and had to jury rig a way to connect the camera. Better next time.

The video did come out and its pretty good. The fisheye version of the flight can be seen here.....

Ill work on the regular hanging version later or tomorrow. I bonked my head so hard today while in the trailer that I have a bum bigger than an egg on the side of my head. It hurts quite a lot but not enough to stop me doing videos or holding my granddaughter when she got to the house. Nice and she was fussy but then fell asleep for almost two hours..

I took only the fisheye camera lens today and that was a bummer because it was a nice day to take pictures.. especially since Eric and I did some roll overs.. He went under me as I went over him and then he came up and flew over me and then we piddled off to find a landing spot short of the bad area. Since we were getting close to bad areas I dropped out to find a road or space to land in but instead found a trickle of west wind and rode it out to get to a place to lay down safely. ... which we did... it was awesome. Nick got a great ride... I got some fly time to enjoy the handling on my Lindstrand... which is awesome too... Now the whole system needs a cleaning but that will have to wait till after next weekend where me or my son will fly two more people on their first time up in a hot air balloon. its so much fun flying people who have never flown before. Really fun. Some shots I was able to get.. not many...

Nick's view out.

Trapeze mount of us going over Eric. it was closer than it appears.

And down the other side.

Now following and flying at the same altitude.

Off we go to find a different bit of air.

Kodak 360 camera capture of the same.

Weeee..

And Hi!

Landed and happy.

The whole week prior is but a shade compared.

Oh.. Tim Powers came out with a short story and I am reading it now... pretty novel story line so far and pretty captivating... you can find it on Amazon...

https://www.amazon.com/Down-Out-Purgatory-Tim-Powers/dp/1596067810/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1467600612&sr=8-1&keywords=tim+powers

We have had a conversation on that a soul carries after death... is it still evil or is there a cleansing or even what that would be about... no spoilers. Most interesting.

okay.. that's about it...

Now its going Fallout....

Since the contraption DLC dropped i've tried to use some of the stuff but found most to be pretty ho hum. Even the elevator which i really wanted to use is next to useless. Its not set so you can stack but are preset and they done line up except for the warehouse and I don't use that junk. I've been able to incorporate it into one place... Bunker Hill.. and that place was a total pain to work with too. So.. after all that I had all these supplies and nothing to build so I went back to the red rocket station and thought about rebuilding it... and I did.. It was one to two levels of 10 by 10 block and then metal and wood all the way up.. that made it very tight... I was able with a lot of work to switch out the 10 x 10 blocks with cement walls. And I replaced all the armor levels with mesh metal floating and the walls of the housing area with nice tall glass walls and even got a weapons display in there too... Look below.

Old version with cement blocks and wood levels.. Yay old school.

Updated house level with nice walls.

Now nice and fresh. open and clear. I even added some mesh walls to let some light in.

Below that is the new weapons area. Not bad but very restricted in what you can add and all....

After I got most of that done while protecting a lot of settlements I finished it and I only ha a few things I am going to have to fix sometime...

I did after this insanity go back to Hangman's Alley and fix that as best as possible with all the glitches in that area... Glitch. Its almost impossible to seal off from attack. Most items are too hard to fit into the limited area. The settlers will not go past an invisible line and into the other part so no matter what you build or plant they will never go to it. So I ripped it all down except where I had sealed the holes in the place and rebuilt it with cement walls and opened it up as best as possible.. i even fit a bunch of water filtration... Yeesh!.. below.

New housing with living below and sleeping above.

Stairwells nicely set this time with a bathroom even!

Living.

Down below where there were a few places to buy things.

More things to go on and I have more stuff I want to do.. we will see....

Its almost time to shelve the game.

Cheers!

Busted Weekends.. Still another weekend ( F4 too )

Yeah so .. had great plans to fly two hops this Saturday. Had thee worthy victims to get in the air in two hops. Weather looked great for just that all week. Spend time creating five different facebook banners zooming in on the location of the flight and all the information to make it fun and get people to come out... Problem was.. the weather reports were in no way close to what was going on at the launch area. Reports were 2mph slightly to the east... We had gusts to 12 and overcast and funky skies.

So we stood there for over an hour waiting for it to calm down but it just tried to play sucker with us. In the end we sat and had mimosa's and snacks and chatted. Not the way it was supposed to be.

It was also pretty muggy and mucky. All that means that the flying was doable but that two hops were not going to happen. Also the landing would be a might bit bumpy. So, not wanting to bruise anyone on their first flight or be unable to swap passengers we chose to stay on the ground...as did almost everyone... One Doctor decided to go fly and had a good time.... Doctor!

The work leading up to the day...

Yeah.. it sucked. We will try again next weekend on Sunday... So ..if your in the area of all those arrows you should see us in the air. Hopefully.

Other than that the week ambled on. Got some good training in on Thursday.. but that was all of the excitement.

Here are some of the pictures I took that I did nothing with for a while... I had a bit of energy to do something.. not much and it gave out quickly...

Ted pointed this out to me...a good view of the moon with all the levels of clouds going every-which-way and a contrail.

A zoomed crop of the moon.

Contrail fun.

Tone map of that sucker hole! Didnt edit out the dust speck.

Doctors in the sky,.

Sooo.... that was about it for that... some other shots....

Sandias looking blue in these tones.

Tails of some fire birds. Forest fire tankers.

Rabbits of Summer. We have a large population of Rabbits around our office.. and one roadrunner who is always knocking at the front door... We give it water.

Okay... That was the main content....

Now you can go away .. unless your interested in Fallout 4 stuff.... I warned you.

Saw the drop of another DLC.. construction stuff... litttle I was interested in except the elevators... sadly they are fixed and hard to deal with. If you had given it out as sections.. like add a section as you go that would have worked but this way its too hard to line them up and use them.. BORING! Most of the the other stuff is pretty useless too.. I mean if you have no imagination then it was great but for standard building.. They forgot half walls, quarter walls, windows for standard sized heights and some other stuff...

I was able to complete the Institute quests.. or at least get to the decision point of the game.. I hate that in this game and in F3 New Vegas they want you to choose to destroy the BOS.. Not happening.. I need that armor and equipment location.. so I stopped it and left it in stasis. It did open up Bunker hill to be set up as a settlement.. THen I find out that the build zone SUCKS HARD! Cant take down the crap walls and build better nor can you build out to the edges where you would think it worked nicely. No.. you have to pretty much stuff things in here and there. I wasted a lot of supplies and time before I could find something that worked.. and the building height.. that sucked worse.. why so short Bethesda>? Sigh.. So it turned out to be a club in the sky... I have pretty much exhausted the building possibilities... except I did upgrade the weapon positions in Oberland Station since the game started popping super mutants into the middle of it.. which is such a cheat... good luck now.. seven rocket launchers are waiting now.... Screen shots below.

Oberland Stations new pain wall. Come at me Bro.. you gonna get served... Pop mutants into the middle of my settlement... my short hairs.

Validation of supplies..

New Bunker Hill overlook.

Bunker Hill Overlook Armor. Behind Elevator.

Dining area at Bunker Hill Overlook.

Bunker Hill Overlook. Took forever to get the placement right so that the elevator worked and the support columns came down to the ground correctly. Pain in the A$$, Weapon positions are on the roof of all the shanty's below.

Bar area on the top.

Red Rocket Armor build up. My Terracotta army is almost complete.

Yes... Hilarious ending to that quest to get the ship unstuck....

Another shot of Red Rocket. Thought about moving everything to the Boston Airport but I think its too much trouble.

Starlight Drive In entrance upgrade. Thats the building to the left. Raised it and enclosed it.

Inside the entrance. A place for traders to relax before going into the main settlement.

One last shot of the Bunker Hill complex with the settlers now resting and relaxing.

A thought as I was finishing this up.. Once I had set it all up for the people of this area of Earth I stepped back... What would these people do with what they had been given.. Too bad the little world does not continue on after you save and shutdown. Its in stasis until you start up again.. It would be interesting... though since the game forces you to respond to every settlement attack regardless of the weapons at that settlements ability to stop any raids if you dont show up the game trashes your settlement.. which is major bull. My settlements should never be run over and damaged. I might lose a gun turret here or there but ... Okay.. its just silly.

I am going to peek into the game for a bit today to see if there isnt anything else I can do.... Have a good Sunday!!

Los Fathers Day

Sunday, Fathers day, Brothers Birthday, I'm hiding in my house. Its cool here and there are no nasty fire ants trying to kill me. The dog is trying to trip me up though so there is something to be aware of.

Way back when with my 2 year old daughter. He daughter is the spitting image of her minus the hair. She is slow to get hair for some reason. She also has better control of her face and as Aub was more the happy kid all the time Emmers can give the stink eye in a second. She is much quieter than Aub ever was ... so you gets what you gets.

This last week was long. In fact there were five full days in it without break. The first in a while due to children and other things that go bump in the night. Next week will probably be another long one too. Lots and lots of paperwork and financial docs to deal with. Its going to be longer because amounts for items are not jiving with the reported amounts. I have to figure out how purchases were grouped which is a real pain in the butt. Next time I am ordering things separately so I can track each item as said. Seriously took five hours just to get started to get to the place where I can find the numbers. Sad.

I did get one video done of the flying last Saturday. Link provided below. I really have to do the other version but I am a bit tired so I don't know when that will happen. My front yard is amazing. I had gotten the name of a gardener from a friend but I had worries as the last people I had in took the money and did as little possible to fulfill the minimums and went away an hour early. Will not use Angies list again. The ratings for these guys were high and they sucked. So....

I was worried.. but.. the gardener showed up a day early, just after I left for work.. Uh Oh.... But no... When I got home He and his helper had spent 5 hours and where I thought it would be smarter to just dig it all up and star over this guy amazed me and sculpted my sage and trees and grounds back to the way they were meant to be. It didn't look this good when I bought the house. Stunned I was. I look at it all the time and am very happy. I will have the gardener back to do more as soon as I can. He rocks.

My granddaughter got hold of my daughters glasses so she had to put them on her.. and this ensued.

Forest fire in the mountains behind our office. There are two really but it came up fast and got big. Still going.

So went the week.

On the gaming front I am waiting for a new DLC to drop and have upgraded my settlements . Now there is not much to do so I am working on file transfers and getting my drives right.  They are allowing computer mods to be used in the game and some of very nice.. like the one below .. grass and leaves.. wonderful.. too bad it restricts your saves. I might try it again but I might now.

Mostly I am a bit tired. So I expect it to be a quiet day and I am hoping for a very quiet and uneventful week.

Hope you have a quiet nice week too.
