Fish and chips.

Not really.. Just looked back at my visits to this blog and for some reason the most visits are when I put a food in the title.. This is a test. If you clicked on this blog due to the title being a food please leave me a note as to why you are hungry.

And I like Fish and Chips... real not simulated.... There must be the country of England around them then the newspaper... its just not the same if you are missing those two items.

Way off track on that....

I said I was going to clean up  my balloon system or weed the front yard if I wasn't in a fetal ball this morning... No.. I was rolled up but did crawl out in the heat of the day, put up the awning as my garage it too full of other peoples junk to clean it there.

Okay...I got half of it done before I started to get lightheaded and pukey. The basket is washed, wiped and conditioned. The tanks have been wiped down and cleaned. The burner and upright covers are in the house waiting until I get some more stainless steel polish.

Above is in fact my colored wicker right after washing. Nice huh.

Lovely solid wood floor just washed down. you would not believe how much dust and dirt and stuff gets stuck in the edges of the wicker. Its a slosh and wash and let it wash out the two holes in the bottom. THen wipe down with a nice towel.

Wicker Slicker... TM Pat Pending..registered trademark.... If you saw the full pad you would see the damage from the ground and such that is etched into this leather cover. Id have broken wicker and shaved wicker and shredded leather if it was not for this. Right now its cleaned and off the basket until everything drys out completely and has a bit of air. I will build these but they are expensive. If you see the leather thongs down the edge that is what secures it to the side. The will break away before the wicker if it gets caught on anything ( never happened ). Its usually tight up against the wicker side.

Droplets on the plastic sheathing of on up line. Nice and fresh. After everything gets washed down everything gets dried. Every line, every connector, every thing.

Lindstrand free upgraded leather bolster. Two rounds of conditioner... First wash and wipe.. second work in Wheelers natural beeswax conditioner....wait..wipe.. reapply.. wipe again... shiny and supple and smells amazing. The reflected blue is of the awning. You can only get Wheelers from England. It takes about two months to get in and about 24 dollars for 300 ml. I have to remember to order more when its half done. I used about a half inch today. still have to do the upright covers.

Dry floor.. see the weep hole in the upper middle right.. but the bolt head? That is one of two weep holes in the floor. I have two HOLES IN MY FLOOR!!! Heh. The red pad on the wall is to keep your knees and body safe from the wicker if he were to hit hard on landing. Both side...and they are wonderful and have leather along the foot step you see that is also conditioned..as well as the real foot step leather outside... Cant scrimp on cleaning and conditioning.

Everything else but the kitchen sink.. No.. really the burners.. which at this time were already in the house. Envelope bag to the left. Pole and upright covers in the long bag in the back... Drop line in blue bag on the envelope bag... Three tanks.. two in front Lindstrand 15 gal.s with a 10 gallon in the back.. my POM tank. Everything except the envelope bag got cleaned ( except the pole bag which is inside too now.

Look down on those nice and shiny clean tanks. Qucik Shut Off orange/red handles ( QSO ) Fuel meter in the middle. This type tank only shows when you are down to 40% or so ( 45% ish ). Waterbed heater digital display ( I heat my tanks in winter with these as they are very accurate ) Cool cap on the tank line attachment. Spit valve at the bottom. I love the big rubber covers on the top ring and I really love the openness which makes it very easy to get in there and attach or open things.... And Shiny!

Spit valve. When you refuel you open this to let out the gasses inside so that you can fill it with liquid propane. When the liquid propane spits out that little hole in the side you know you are full. You twist the little knob on the top to shut it off. Very dangerous so we always wear thick loose gloves.

Closeup QSO! Nice and thick and grabby. Another think I love with Lindstrand.. The very strength and impact of their parts and pieces. Very  ( I'm looking for the right word here ) heavily functional. You just feel it when you touch it... Damn Fine Designs! dangit.. ill think of the work later I expect.

Reloaded into the trailer. She will stay empty until I am ready to put it all back together. I want to remove the white Mylar runners you see at the bottom of the floor and install a truck bed liner bottom to the trailer floor so the basket can slide nicely without causing a tripping hazard from me and the crew. I also have to add another padded rail to the left side as cinching the basket to the wall is causing the basket to be flexed. I don't like that. I also have more trailer work to do too.

Upright bag in the house.. waiting until I have time and strength to clean and condition the covers. Its a sit on the floor with newspaper out kinda job.

Burner bag. Leaning up against a bin..not the wall.... They also have to be cleaned and they will take a long time to do. I can disassemble them as I would love to do but the outside will get polished up and the bag itself will get wiped down inside.

I will get some pictures of the burner and covers when they are done. It is going to take a bit though.

See how in all those pictures they nicely match the drawing I did... I really like that. Like a Brick is what the word was. That's how the parts and pieces are.... Solid! Yeah.. my brain is done.

After 50 almost 3 years the brain is breaking down. I wonder why. Eyesight's shot as well.

Highperactive Dreams

Bad morning. Glad I didn't set up to fly after all. I would have had to cancel. Wow... For a practically tea totaling person I felt like my stomach had drank gallons of the nasty stuff. Sadly it was some chips and ice cream.. not at the same time. Its been a long day of pain and phone calls...

See out netlink is down at work and our provider is no where to be found. Insane! Monday is gonna be bad. Very bad.

Me and our ITO have been on the phone most of the day. Sucks.

On the other side of the coin is.... I took enough Imodium to get my balloon system down to Ortega's and refueled. 15.4 gallons. That is 4 for one, 10 for another and bleed 1 from the last. Not bad for an hours flight in the summer.

Building a balloon.. or at least having one built to what you want is pretty convoluted. Not that the builders were .. they were excellent... I had lots of things I wanted a specific way and they pretty much let me just go with it.... No one said no... they just were so nice.... maybe I took advantage.. I don't know but they made a nice system for me... Birthday coming up. 5 years!

Its the largest racer they made at the time... now they make much larger but they are so tall too!!!

I asked for a ring of matching colored patterned throat when they usually single color it. I asked for a yellow baffle in the middle of my balloon and they made one. We went around and around on the basket fabric colors but I agreed with them on the two changes... That's it below... I designed my own color chart for showing each item and how I wanted it to reflect the colors of the balloon... Yellow, Red and Blue...

The colors are how they were built. I did want yellow tank covers and a blue floor but they said they would get dirty so quickly that I would hate it.. and looking at just shy of five year old mark she has picked up some dirt. Its impossible not to here. The inset picture is for the type basket and wicker coloring, rope coloring. In the picture the ropes are all red.. on mine the center two are black. The color bands are slightly changed for my three colors. The black leather on my system is an upgrade they gave me for free... never doubted that choice. Red panels in the basket are pads so you don't scrape into the wicker on landing. The flooring.. Another request of mine.. its a very strong compressed foam pad that normally comes with it but I wanted a fabric cover for it... which they did and it has Velcro so I can take it out and wash it... Super nice. Flat topped baskets are so very nice and spacious... I went with the more powerful double burner over the single... but hay....

So many little details.. but that's nuts to go into here ...now....

Just wanted to show my idea drawing and say that Lindstrand did everything perfectly.

A quick shot they sent me of my basket being wove... and the poor guy who is doing it was dealing with flooding at the same time in Galena Il.

I have a "baby book" of photographs of her creation.. maybe Ill share that on her birthday in August.

I made up my own briefing card for passengers.... I'm not sure if its everything but its most everything I could think of... at least I am not telling people you could die anymore.. thanks Bob.

I love the "have fun" part at the end... Its better to let people read this then tell them the high points after.

I even made up a balloon certificate but have been very bad at making them and sending them out to those that have flown.... sigh.

Time to do things.. its 69 days out..... yikes.

Since I was on the balloon and going over records I used my order design for my banner on facebook today and the basket colors design as my logo...

 See you send them color charts and designs using a blank design... I had many many many designs before this just popped in. I loved how the red blue squares jangled your eyes when you stared at them too long. There are some pretty balloons out there but you usually only get one chance to create a whole system.

Thanks Lindstrand for being there for me over these five years. No problems at all other than what I created myself....like 8 panels burned two weeks after I got it...YEESH! Less than a month to Fiesta! Lindstrand took my call on a weekend and got the panels in and Aerco had them sewn in ASAP! You would never know. Another reason I picked the design was the separate panels. No long panels in it anywhere... Better to repair.

Oh can I go on.. and there is so much more....

Almost its five year birthday.. Tomorrow if I have the strength and security of stomach she gets a good wash... condition and clean.. Ill take pictures.. make a brisket... we will laugh.... Or I will stay curled up in a ball in my chair...

Tim Powers has a book coming out... Sounds interesting... He said there isn't any drawings in it.. which is a loss.... Old Hollywood backdrop.... hmmmm..... I have to wait till January??? Tim.. please! Sheesh!

It made me think of writing a good yarn but I cant really put it together.... or at least not now.
I went round and round in my head on that one.... Round and round. What is worse is that I remember a good story way back when I was a kid but can I find that story.. no!... Sucks.

I did move my xbox into the computer room as I was saying but playing fallout three is like wandering around bored...

I find the story line stilted now. I wander around farming for bottle caps so that I can get better equipment.... Its not new.

The side quests are booooring! I really don't want to spend too much time in front of the box... I just want to get the feel for the game before Fallout 4 shows up.

I am almost there.... Its a tough transition of control sets from Borderlands. Maybe Ill pay a bit of that too.. but that is another game I've finished. Nothing out there seems worth wasting the time on.

It always feels like I have ripped myself off when I stop playing.... What did I get.. what did I make on that time... How much money did it stick in my pocket.... yeah.. I am off the proverbial rocker.

Therapy.. coma... attitude adjustments.... It would be nice if I could move up the clock without aging.. so I can get on with things I want to get on with... chomping at the bit is a good image. I have things to do in the mean time. I should get on with hat.... I have been trying to come up with a good site trailer logo but keep getting too tired to consider it... Mentally worn down... I really should work on that this weekend.....along with refueling my system and burning the weeds down and cleaning the system up... so... its a plan..

I also missed the great internet loss of 15 which happened at around 4pm at the office. I guess I will hear the tales of it tomorrow... people starving.. zombie plagues... sour milk... its gonna be gristly.

No Common Scents.... yeah.... I may have to stop in there this weekend. Says it has a soda fountain.

Nothing much to report today.... Though it was interesting looking at server specs is a little bit yawning. I mean its all cool and neat but when they go from 700 bucks to over 2K with the flick of a finger on the ..upgrade processor bit.. well it gets exhausting. Just give me the middle of the group.... I'm not trying to do brain surgery with it! Tomorrow I will find out about that too. Plus set up for two other computers and some nicks.. and a few knacks. Maybe a door. Probably a door. I never thought to ask if that door will have a lock on it.. Must remember to ask about that.

Met a guy today who has lived here all his life but had never gotten off on the ramp heading to where I work.. he was amazed at what was there. Its all rather boring to me but I see it twice a day on weekdays and sometimes on weekends....

Pondifications

I got home in time to go look at the pond without the ants trying to eat me alive and enough sunlight to get some good reflections. I forgot that with that much sun you get overblown shots.

There was this pretty pale blue dragonfly buzzing around. I wished it would have been a little more calmer. He didn't mind me standing on the bridge but there were a few wasps and another dragonfly about so he would barely settle down and then leap away again. I had to shoot fast. I got a few. One I processed so you can see the blue.

Besides the bugs the fish were about. Not able to get any good shots as the pads hide most of the water and they are not stupid enough to come out in clear direct sunlight as the birds will grab em.

I was adding water to the pond and the fish love to get the gunk that the water is now covering. These guys were munching the edge of a planter.

The flowers were nice. There are two there but one is closed up. Good contrasts.

I could post many more dragonfly shots but it would be repetitious.

The only thing I came away from at work today was that the confused instructions continue. The lack of assistance or clarity is amazing. And... and more paperwork. Meh.. It all pays the same. No complaints there. I would love people to write things down and share.... I think that is a bad problem. When someone asks me about something and I have to say.. sorry.. I cant help you I don't have that information.. well..... sorry. Things to do. I have fallen shot on writing things down too.

There were a few blogs on line today that would slightly interesting.. One from a guy who has bought a travel camper and is going to blog about his travels... Yes.. that's been done before.. and from more rustic trappings.. but ... Maybe he has a different view... his and his editor ( or whatever ) were wondering if America is going to take to wheels again in search of work or different pastures.... To this I say.. when has it ever stopped? It's always on going. Migration maybe slowly but it happens.

The only drawback to camper travel is the bathroom..... Oh and net linking... but I guess if you had no mortgage or rent a small section of that money could go for a huge 4G charge. Unless you hunt for wireless hot-spots as you go... that would be funny.. Hopping from wireless spot to spot. Hi Starbucks!

 This was pre Fiesta last year at a local school. No flying but lots of hands to snack the envelope back into the bag. Many hands make light work.

Lindstrand Logo I made a few days ago... I had the idea from where my Lindstrand Burner frame meets my Pilot light knob. It has a "0" on the side and you rotate it along that line on the right till it clicks solidly into the "1" position. Then you can snap the peizeo and light the burners. I loved it. Big.. Solid... Awesome.

Its a bit far but it might just work. It fits my sense of balance.

The Apple watch isn't doing well..... Nor is any watch either... We as a group are past things on our wrists that tell time even if they do blow kazoos up you arse. The Windows Surface 3 isn't doing well either.... but I am not sure that is a big a deal. We will see when win 10 hits.
