Nada

How come there are so many jobs out there that make absolutely no sense?! Who pays for these wacky jobs? I guess it just confuses me.

I took today "off". On the edge of being sick and do not have the time for it. So I figured if I took today off and the tomorrow get all the things done! I should be good. My plan for tomorrow is to make a list. On that list I will have the things that have to be done next week. The next weekend and then the next week as well as that weekend. Its a plan. pro cras tena tion....

About the only things done today was editing a flight video from last weekend. Sadly the angle of the cameras makes it look wonky so I will tuck it away and not post it. That's about 7 so far that are too screwy to post. Cant tell until the process is complete so that was two hours wasted. Then I removed the old HP mini computer I have been using in the living room. It was noisy and ran slow. I picked up a monitor interface for my tablet and a usb hub so now I am running off that and its working better and its much quieter.

Exciting huh. Once that was all done and cleaned up I tracked down some shots that defied that wide and polar idea. Stretching the boundaries as much as I can here.

Sanitary Seat Covers!
I love this shot and have multiple edits of it. There are so many signs and things around its hard to crop while shooting. It is a place I need to go back to someday.

Nara Visa. VI SA.. no visa like the card. Most people would use a lens cowl to stop the sunlight beading but I love it... so there.

Luminalesent. Nice light with cobwebs around it.

760D This is part of a sign. I think there are about 10 ways I could crop this one...plus I bet I could make a polar out of it.

COLA. Just an old Coca Cola machine cropped edited and processed then edited again. Then polar edited.
I worked to leave as much as I could on the crop. Especially the coin slot.

Now off to do some more edits. Here are some links.. not much but hay.

I want a few of these to put around the house.

IT's What's for dinner!

Utter 13th!
Came in this morning at 0645am to utter El NiƱo, Ultra screwy, mind numbing net failure. Seems like a Verizon cable was cut/slashed/damaged/knocked out..and due to the weather and flooding they dis not know when it would return. Our infamous IT and myself sat down and devised a way to get us back on the air ( net ) and to a point we could get some segments up and our HQ got things changed over...woosh!. We waited a lot today. We even had a VSAT heading our way to connect up part of our info systems but all the sudden the link came back up! Then it was up to our super IT to get all the route arounds back to normal. And then check all the other links plus check and reset and hunt down and correct and call.. It was a day and he rocked it. I was support system LOL. Wished I could do more. Need to go back to school. We left work at 615pm. I left work. Dave was somewhere behind me... LOL.
Tonight I took some more of Fiestas past shots and pushed them through the polar grinder. Playing with some of the other tools enabled better meshing or at least hiding the mesh in plain sight. Yes you can see it but not bad as a severe cut through the shot.
look it over and see.
Oh.. the faces crack me up.

WAH!!!

Tuff Stuff.

Snork Snork.

Red Rock over The Top.

Not So Square.

Pyramid Pleasure.

A hoot playing with these.

Now to go find some more to mess with..

No time.. no time left for... no time left......

For links.

Glad this is off the ground. Looks very cool. Cant wait to see the rebirth of rigid air ships.

Does it work?

No.. remakes are safe ground.. boring ground.. and even the movies that are new are so missing the ability to be believed.. sigh... so very sad!

Wow this one is long.. or big but well worth the look.. Love to go to some of these places...

After that I am going to go hunting.. more pictures to polar!!

Voice not hands. Another day.

Or Daze!

Worked from 0640 to 1645 today. I try and show up early to prepare for the day and invariably someone is waiting or something is happening that I have to deal with. So I start my day at 0645 and end it when I am too tired to work more or stuck and cant go farther. Some days are smooth but most are extremely hectic. Today was a hectic day. Again. BUT. THINGS WERE ACCOMPLISHED! yay!

We have some All In One computers now. They are for our operations staff. Nice and compact with a 23 inch screen. Not touch screen. That would be terrible. And as much as a tablet is nice with touch screen. Try moving your arms all day to open and close windows. Ouch. Thinking about that leads me to those big screens with touch. Stupid! Voice controlled would be much better. And least wearing. Add a head mounted mic and you could whisper your commands. Like. If I was on my computer at home. They commands would be prefaced with "Home 1" ( name of my computer in users / control panel ) open Chrome Browser / Open favorites / Open you tube / search for Silly Cats on Ice Gifs. Not flinging your arms about or moving a mouse. Should be flippen easy to do. A learning system is possible too. Having your favorites all ready coded.. As in... Home 1: Facebook opens your facebook page. Or Home 1 find people slipping on ice videos. And you could have hot words... Pizza! Opens up your browser accesses your favorite pizza place enters your favorite pizza order and orders it. Ta da... hot pizza! One word or HOTWORD. Hotword : UUBERwipe! Clears all your browser history, cookies, and tracks then ticks off a thermite charge on your hard drive... hahahhahahahaa...  It could work with all sorts of programs. If you edit pictures it would be nice to key all the processes into one hotword. Editpolar does all the steps to create a polar. Editwide, edits for parameters of a wide shot. I can think of many more applications too.. I may have to pursue this with all that time I have........

Some un hotword edits for the day... enjoy!

I see you!

Dawns Delight.

Tree trippin.

Solo Skies.

Natural Selection.

This last one is my favorite for the day. Getting the cut somewhat on line was hard. But it turned out okay.

I am going to get rid ( give away after a wipe and a reload ) this computer ( HP ) it needs a new video card and some more ram. It is good for standard surfing and editing but for heavy stuff I am doing now it takes forever to process. I am going to use the screen attached to my tablet as it hauls butt when processing video and photographs.. go figure. Plus it will clean up all the clutter this big computer has. Make it little clutter. LOL

LOLINKS...

As much as I dislike the amount of Cat stuff on the internet.. and I believe its a cat conspiracy, this was funny.

Nominal To Profile

When things just pop into your head!!

Had a interesting day again today. Nice and short, well standard 8 hours. At 7 1/2 I figured it was going to take me at least another 8 to get what I was doing done. Deciding that it could wait till tomorrow and I couldn't just leave it after starting the first part today it stopped where I was.

We did have another visit from Roadrunner Wireless. They adjusted our dish. We are getting about 40 meg peak unencumbered on our new link. With everyone in the office on the system plus some other things we still had 8 meg variable. Not too shabby. Good deal with them too. For the amount we are paying its very good. I may have to look into them for the house. I am getting somewhere around 6 meg.. or supposedly, and paying through the nose for it. The Roadrunner service is about 50 dollars more a month for 14 meg more! I think I can go for 10 total and get it for 75 less than what I am paying the cable company ( now so named "Rip Off Artists"  oh yeah ) , ....which would be nice.

All in all its grand to have the space. Now to get the wireless segment internal to the office and all will be Nominal To Profile! Woo...    Also got some new "all in one" computers in.. Very nice.. very nice indeed!

Getting home on time today allowed me to play with a few more shots.. and widen them.. or really crop them.. I have to, have to, have to go take some multi shots and stitch them darn it. Well maybe.. hopefully this weekend. But enough about that... here they are.

Half the fun is titling..

Hay, pretty baby.....

Big Ear.. not big nose.

Rusticated.

You say theres a what, where?!

Best of Luck.

A hoot.. Wells Fargoing.

The last two were just for fun. Can you figure the last one? I bet you can! I bet you can! Nudge nudge...

Off to find some links.. then go edit some MORE~! Its what I live for... (Arthur, if you have no clue )

Oh so funny!  Hay.. why didn't I have a phone watch when I was 2 years old?

And the RIAA get more stupid. They live to feed off the artists... They try and lock down what they can't lock down and squeeze every particle from every song and give the artist a pittance. I remember a line from the first Star Wars movie. ( sad that ) Princess Leia... The more you squeeze star systems the more will flow through your fingers. Its more bloated corporate hacks who cant make a dime on their own who have locked up the music world. And search engines are not the problem either. Woops.. Soap box is off.

Bandwidth

Yay!

This afternoon we had our broadband wireless link installed. Granted I got very wet, and I twisted my back, and they have to come back tomorrow because the dish is  a little low...BUT WE HAVE BANDWIDTH!

My head was a total impacted pain today. I have to have some sort of sinus virus going on. Then there's the rain! They are saying in the office that its going to be today, tomorrow and the next day of rain. I had to wipe down everything below the roof access twice already. Roadrunner Wireless is the company that we went with. It will greatly help our very tight level we have been strangling with for years.

I am surprised but also understanding of the level of person in our office that they do not stream or torrent stuff. They all are pretty conscious of our limitations. Hopefully that will not change in the future. I don't think it will. Now if we could get that Barcalounger in my cube......

I have yet to hunt the interesting down on the net today so I will go off and do that then come back and post what I have found .. if I find anything. Look at these shots while you wait....

Hope you liked those.

Corner pocket fade

I found out about my little irritation yesterday. Well big irritation. But at least I found out about it.

Yesterday while processing the early morning shots I found that the corners of my zoom shots were darkened. Also that there were visible graduated lines on some of the shots.

As I was reading this evening from this excellent website....below

http://www.kenrockwell.com/index.htm

and after doing a quick search I found that this is normal at certain light levels. You can either go manual and adjust or use less zoom. Not a problem as much as a light situation. This makes me feel better. The same thing with the graduations. Such low light levels and the JPG just gets chunky. Whew!

I also found out there were more lenses out there that go up to 300mm from 18mm. Nice that. Sadly I want to in the future sell both of my D300s and lenses and buy a D600. So no buying more lenses. I have to sell these first. Amazon here I go.

If you know anyone looking for an upgrade and at much less than they can buy at the camera store.. let em know. I have an 18-200mm vr and a 10.5 fisheye.  I will do this in this order. D300 body, 10.5 fisheye ( even though I love this lens ), D300 body and last 18-200mm lens. Plus extra batteries ( one for each ) and SD chips ( 16 gig each ). That aint bad. But until then these cameras work great for me. Just thinking of the future.

Here are some fun shots from the weekend that I blasted through the polar edit.

Sunrise Angel all alone with the radio towers off to the right.

Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Park with the AAAA Pilots launching.

Heading out and Down South in search of the missing X.

A favorite shot of mine. A different selection and a different type bunching. Nice and crazy.

That's about the best of the few shots I got while flying ( really ) off the field myself. Its pretty hard to hold a DSLR and fly at the same time. At the height we were over the field if you delay a burn because your taking a picture...ooopsie, your gonna hit the ground. I flew first and shot second or third. There ya go.

Its not that I don't want to leave the house as much as when I get there I do not want to be bothered. This is especially important when I get home after a long day at work! I am going to remove my door bell and cover the lights on the front door. That plus a No Trespassing / Go Away sign on the front gate should do it. My friends and family know to call and come in the garage. Hah!

Gotta go find some documents and important files.. right after I have some oreos... yeah.. the 1.82% "double" lying stuff type. What a lawsuit!

Shot processing.

An interesting thing happened today while processing photographs from RAW to .JPG. The JPGs sucked.

I have to try and process them on another computer to see if it is this computer or the program or the process. It just started and I had thought it was because I was zooming in and the quality was reducing because of that.

I do hate this wishy washy problem. And its late, and I do not have the time to fiddle with it now, and when can I find the time to search it out. Bah!

Here are a few from today. I will put one JPG that shows the levels after mapping and how it looks when you take a RAW file and tone it.

From this mornings flight. If you look close you can see the graduations. And the little spots are dust on the lens. Pretty dirty but there was a lot of dust filtering down from the envelope.

This shot was toned directly from a RAW file. Much better.

This was a direct from RAW so there was no graduations but much more dust and what seems to be zoom lens on the upper corners.

And another with that corner problem and dust.

I have to find the time to clean the camera and figure out why I have this corner problem. Lots of dust out there. Going to also have to process some more from the files. Time.. how bout 28 hours in a day? Work 8 and have 20 to get things done?

Time flies when your having fun.... truth.

interesting links today.. few but interesting.

Dedication, Smart and I like clean rivers.

i've harped on this over and over again and a writer even did a short story on it. Quit with the Remakes AKA Reboots! Get a real fresh idea! Yawn. I wint even go into how lame this stuff is.

Ouch, ouch, ouch, ouch!

I think the human population as a whole has specific amnesia! Its specific to each person in their minds time. Looking back at this tragic times which if you consider their ability to connect to anyone outside their local area at the time and tragic situations and now where the information gets out to everyone quickly and help pours in... We are wimps today. Plus the photography of the incidents then are amazing and sad. I think half of the shots today would be on facebook and say.. " Oh.. I had to eat at McDonalds three days in a row because my power was out. Granted I probably whine the most.
