Busted Weekends.. Still another weekend ( F4 too )

Yeah so .. had great plans to fly two hops this Saturday. Had thee worthy victims to get in the air in two hops. Weather looked great for just that all week. Spend time creating five different facebook banners zooming in on the location of the flight and all the information to make it fun and get people to come out... Problem was.. the weather reports were in no way close to what was going on at the launch area. Reports were 2mph slightly to the east... We had gusts to 12 and overcast and funky skies.

So we stood there for over an hour waiting for it to calm down but it just tried to play sucker with us. In the end we sat and had mimosa's and snacks and chatted. Not the way it was supposed to be.

It was also pretty muggy and mucky. All that means that the flying was doable but that two hops were not going to happen. Also the landing would be a might bit bumpy. So, not wanting to bruise anyone on their first flight or be unable to swap passengers we chose to stay on the ground...as did almost everyone... One Doctor decided to go fly and had a good time.... Doctor!

Yeah.. it sucked. We will try again next weekend on Sunday... So ..if your in the area of all those arrows you should see us in the air. Hopefully.

Other than that the week ambled on. Got some good training in on Thursday.. but that was all of the excitement.

Saw the drop of another DLC.. construction stuff... litttle I was interested in except the elevators... sadly they are fixed and hard to deal with. If you had given it out as sections.. like add a section as you go that would have worked but this way its too hard to line them up and use them.. BORING! Most of the the other stuff is pretty useless too.. I mean if you have no imagination then it was great but for standard building.. They forgot half walls, quarter walls, windows for standard sized heights and some other stuff...

I was able to complete the Institute quests.. or at least get to the decision point of the game.. I hate that in this game and in F3 New Vegas they want you to choose to destroy the BOS.. Not happening.. I need that armor and equipment location.. so I stopped it and left it in stasis. It did open up Bunker hill to be set up as a settlement.. THen I find out that the build zone SUCKS HARD! Cant take down the crap walls and build better nor can you build out to the edges where you would think it worked nicely. No.. you have to pretty much stuff things in here and there. I wasted a lot of supplies and time before I could find something that worked.. and the building height.. that sucked worse.. why so short Bethesda>? Sigh.. So it turned out to be a club in the sky... I have pretty much exhausted the building possibilities... except I did upgrade the weapon positions in Oberland Station since the game started popping super mutants into the middle of it.. which is such a cheat... good luck now.. seven rocket launchers are waiting now.... A thought as I was finishing this up.. Once I had set it all up for the people of this area of Earth I stepped back... What would these people do with what they had been given.. Too bad the little world does not continue on after you save and shutdown. Its in stasis until you start up again.. It would be interesting... though since the game forces you to respond to every settlement attack regardless of the weapons at that settlements ability to stop any raids if you dont show up the game trashes your settlement.. which is major bull. My settlements should never be run over and damaged. I might lose a gun turret here or there but ... Okay.. its just silly.

I am going to peek into the game for a bit today to see if there isnt anything else I can do.... Have a good Sunday!!

Los Fathers Day

Sunday, Fathers day, Brothers Birthday, I'm hiding in my house. Its cool here and there are no nasty fire ants trying to kill me. The dog is trying to trip me up though so there is something to be aware of.

Way back when with my 2 year old daughter. He daughter is the spitting image of her minus the hair. She is slow to get hair for some reason. She also has better control of her face and as Aub was more the happy kid all the time Emmers can give the stink eye in a second. She is much quieter than Aub ever was ... so you gets what you gets.

This last week was long. In fact there were five full days in it without break. The first in a while due to children and other things that go bump in the night. Next week will probably be another long one too. Lots and lots of paperwork and financial docs to deal with. Its going to be longer because amounts for items are not jiving with the reported amounts. I have to figure out how purchases were grouped which is a real pain in the butt. Next time I am ordering things separately so I can track each item as said. Seriously took five hours just to get started to get to the place where I can find the numbers. Sad.

I did get one video done of the flying last Saturday. Link provided below. I really have to do the other version but I am a bit tired so I don't know when that will happen. My front yard is amazing. I had gotten the name of a gardener from a friend but I had worries as the last people I had in took the money and did as little possible to fulfill the minimums and went away an hour early. Will not use Angies list again. The ratings for these guys were high and they sucked. So....

I was worried.. but.. the gardener showed up a day early, just after I left for work.. Uh Oh.... But no... When I got home He and his helper had spent 5 hours and where I thought it would be smarter to just dig it all up and star over this guy amazed me and sculpted my sage and trees and grounds back to the way they were meant to be. It didn't look this good when I bought the house. Stunned I was. I look at it all the time and am very happy. I will have the gardener back to do more as soon as I can. He rocks.

My granddaughter got hold of my daughters glasses so she had to put them on her.. and this ensued.

Forest fire in the mountains behind our office. There are two really but it came up fast and got big. Still going.

So went the week.

On the gaming front I am waiting for a new DLC to drop and have upgraded my settlements . Now there is not much to do so I am working on file transfers and getting my drives right.  They are allowing computer mods to be used in the game and some of very nice.. like the one below .. grass and leaves.. wonderful.. too bad it restricts your saves. I might try it again but I might now.

Mostly I am a bit tired. So I expect it to be a quiet day and I am hoping for a very quiet and uneventful week.

Another Sunday and another day of rest. After Saturday I need it.

Lets go backwards...

High speed landing in a nice open area. 12 plus mph and we are two feet off the ground. No brakes. Screaming down very quickly to ground level. Going overhead watching where the other balloons are going at different levels to find a place that will allow us to come down quickly and with good space ahead. Scudding along before heading over houses. Throwing my baggie at the target without hitting the balloon below me by spinning it in. It corkscrewed clockwise and landed about 5 meters from the center ( not bad for the first throw in over six months ). Three dimensional tacking in the available winds to go toward where we think the target is. playing with other balloons in the air nearby and yelling and laughing at each other. Launching into the air and going is weird directions. Inflating and seeing the envelope above me dishing in and we are rocking back and forth. Hot inflating and having to switch tanks as the ten isn't putting out as good as it should. Getting a whole bunk of new folk to do things they have never done before. Having friends show up with help that makes the whole thing worth it. A morning sunrise with great people in the middle of almost nowhere. No coffee stop.

it made the week prior fade out a bit. The whole week didnt go as planned except one thing. No bad.. just not planned.

 Way up to move into a place where we could drop into the field out West of us. Good steerage.

Down low and very fast.  racing across the ground without hitting anything, looking for a cross road to land next to. Skipped the first on because the ground after the road had a lot of brush in it.... zipping to the next one showed a cleanish area so dropped it in the middle of the road on a corner then touched the berm then dragged to a stop while pulling the top out. It was wild and seriously fun.

Kick butt day but not one I would usually fly. Worth it!

Ill give you some websites to browse.. They sounded interesting. They might be.. or total duds. Lately some of the tech web sites that I used to visit are all going hyper slanted in their reporting and adding political info in that is so wrong I worry for our "tech base minds". I expect what is happening is an infusion of losers that cant think for themselves spewing crap to increase readership and at the same time dumbing down the tech info so far that to me its like reading primers.  

Stop. Go back to the real news and information on tech. Stop your extremism or lose me and a massive amount of other readers who think about things instead of gum it and spit it back out.

Well.. we are babysitting my granddaughter and she is a toot. She did go out to fly with us Saturday. She didnt care about the burner noises and all the stuff but I was glad they kept her in the car and out of the sun and wind and loud noises except for the pack up.

This is a standard for all baby's in ballooning. A sit on the envelope bag. She owns this balloon now..LOL

Forget that its Sunday and tomorrow starts a long week of work.. yeah...five days.. Woah! When did that start happening! No really. The week starts and with that many things that keep the mind occupied and the exhaustion curdling through the blood stream. There is much interest in there and lots of cool stuff but the side stuff can really wreck your mentation levels. So they aren't very good already...who asked..

I am the Editor of the AAAA Cloudbouncer.. which is the largest ballooning group in the world ( I said so ) and the most interesting bunch of people I have known. It has been my pleasure to be the editor these past five plus years. I was lassoed into it but it was fun... is fun... I have learned much.. I have not gotten it where I wanted to go but that has been mostly other things on my time limit and I have never found the time to really hammer out a good modification. It works fine... but it can be better. Can I find time to make that happen. Hmmmm....

Its been a week. Leave it at that. It did not follow the plan and .. well really.. the plan got burned up and a bunch of scribbling on wet bar napkins was inserted into the manila folder late one night on Tuesday. It was still wet.

We had our Granddaughter over Friday and Saturday... She is such a cute kiddo and is very quiet until she is wet....or hungry.. who would be. She is cell phone savvy.. she will look directly into the camera lens for you. I'm just now thinking on how much I have forgotten of my own children growing through the early days.... I have the wont to record ever moment of this ones life. Can she wear a gopro all the time? She is growing and learning sounds and noises and how her arms move and how to hold her hands and feet and how to get that toy just within reach.. and turning over on her face and freaking me the hell out... and well.. my anxiety levels are not going down any time soon it seems.

But she is worth ever silent freak out by me.

She can giggle now.... With it she will get her first car I am positive.

I am down here and you will not break eye contact with me regardless on how much your back is screaming from leaning over. No really.. dont .. jsut dont do it.

Someone is not holding me and I have been left in this chair for moments but I am going to give you my death stare until you correct your boorish manners and pick me up.. it had better be soon.

So she did this on Saturday; when her parents were here she started yelling just for the heck of it. First time she has done that. When she is alone with us she only cries for a change or food or to be held... never just to see how loud she can be.... it was novel. She is working sounds out now and that's always interesting to listen to.

On the other..minor...part of my life..... I have not done much with photography.. except pictures of the baby. I really don't like picture sittings as they look so terribly fake. I'm one for action and originality. So.. its been the baby and what she gets up to without props and crap. Sorry. Its ok for most just not me it seems.

Ummm..... I an watching the prices of camera body's... Waiting to see how far my favorite body will drop. I want another body for my fisheye lens that will take a 24 meg pix shot. Soonish. I also have my eye on a micro or tiny computer. Its all of 8 inches by 8 inches by and 1 1/2 inch. Why.. because my damned surface will only take 5 USB attached devices ( AKA External Hard Drives ). Any more that 5 ( 8 over all but I have other things that have to be connected ) or it will crash the last thing attached. Since I mirror all my drives that goes up to 8 to 10 drives. I would love to NOT have to unplug stuff all the time or plug stuff in... damn but its a pain. So yeah... If I got this little device  I wont be using it for gaming but I will use it to process pictures and draw and design and edit and stuff.. Its powerful enough for that.. Just not a graphics beast. I have an Xbox for that.  So I am watching the price on that too.

I am going to ... damnit again.. get my passport done... Its almost time to travel... So yes.. that too.

On the time sucking side of life... that would be Fallout 4 ... where I thought I was almost at a point were the interest would start waning and I could go do other things.. no.. they now allow you to use computer mods and made an easy to access mod portal.. damn them! DAMN THEM!!! I have yet to load a mod but I will soon I expect. One that makes the trees have leaves and the grass be green. If there is one thing I would like to be able to do in Fallout 4 it would be to plant trees. Lots of trees.

You ask what fills my time after work when I am decompressing.. I rarely watch television..so... I play this while listening to music.

Croup Manor I left alone for a long time because it had dead bodies all over that would not go away and a huge building I could not repair nor tear down.. Soooooo... Decision.. Build right over the mother sister!! Hah! Interior. Gateway in to right... Stairways to upper living level to right. Armor protector gollum in front. Stupid manor house on left. Water filtration behind the cement curtain wall.

I visited Diamond Market on Halloween at last... Funny. Cant wait for Christmas.

Validating supplies of 10 by 10 cement foundation blocks I use for walls. 1020 should be enough for the next and probably last settlements build.

Kings Port Lighthouse upper deck extended and stairway expanded.

Far Harbor Visitors Center upgrade. I even used the entryway as the tradesman rest area. Cows are already in the place. People are coming in right now. A bit of a fiddle with the fog machines but it worked.

Dalton Farm Massive waters edge. Had to jog a bit there by the jetty but I was NOT going to go back and fight the current to re - lay the base foundation damnit. Was hard. Didn't matter overall its a nice rectangle. Looking from the living area.

Far Harbor Mill over look from another building I cant remove. Nice balcony with supporting pillars below.. you just cant see them in the mist. I enclose the generator and water supply under in its own room with a powered door. Fun that.

Kick butt time. Prepping to do Longfellow cabin island. Big area to enclose. I will probably go look at it then sleep on it. Once that is done I will probably load my first mod to make everything greener and see what happens.

After that I think I can set the game aside for a few days and hit it only one or two days a week.

If you don't believe it can get captivating.. go ahead and try playing to level 25 and stop right after.. good luck with that.
