Weekenders..Or, When you need that Monday holiday.

Had a fantastic Saturday with my daughters baby shower and all the friends who came over to visit and check the baby out. We had an open house type of "come by and visit" and have some munchies and soda.. then I would accost anyone I could to show they Fallout 4! I think I pretty much drove everyone to distraction!!



I did spend some time this morning editing some shots to mostly remove dust specks and adjust the horizon. A little lightening up and some correction to the colors... Since I have to get some shots together for the Ballooning Magazine I edit I figured it was a good time to get some shots ready for that too.

Above banner is a very nice Aerostar basket lofting into the air. Look at that wicker and leather bottom.. Very nice! If you are wondering what the white tie wraps are for ... well.. they are ( probably ) attachments for a water and doc holder on the left and drop line on the right... I can't be sure exactly because everyone does different things in their baskets. I use leather straps in my basket. Its all choice. No effect on the flight characteristics of flight.. hahahaha

Enchanted Diamonds in the 10.5 lens. This lens capture is very novel. Never a dull moment when you take it away from your eye and play with angle and level. The below shot came out perfect.

more standard shots with the 18 to 200mm lens. I love this lens as it is very versatile and has such a large span. Never want to change a lens in the desert. Too many bits of dust in the air out here.

FALLOUT 4!!!!

Now that I am far enough along that I do not have to worry about "things that want to kill you" most times its a good thing... So running around and updating settlements and rescuing said settlers from themselves.... I did go and create a new settlement at GReygarden. It was a pain in the butt and used two thirds of my wood to ring the area and build up the back wall enough to not be overshot. It worked out. I didn't get any shots of it yet. Still only have three settlers and six robots. Oh well. Here are some screen shots.

Dress code at Spectacle Island is Miner Helmets... I love how they are all wandering around all the time at night.

So far the Cube is looking very  secure... I Think I will start on blue armor and bronze.


THe Slog. Two large scale water purifiers stuck in there. Nice overlook housing for the locals. THey even have lighted umbrellas to hang out under.


The Dead Zone in the Outpost. THe program keeps popping raiders into the middle of of this settlement so I ringed it in gun turrets. Its a slaughter.


Oh.. just when you think you have everything you turn around and have cows on your walls.


At last I stood back enough to capture the gun turrets spitting something like a bug on a board. Ouchie!


I think this is Nord Beach but I forget.. New modded entry with roof over entry with turrets along.

Albuquerque Aerostat Ascension Association Friends and Lovers Rally

Two days! It was two days of flying! It rarely ever happens.

My primary observation from this event.

There were a lot of visitors out on the field both days! That was danged amazing! People with blankets to sit on and chairs and they were everywhere.

I expect we have our coordinator to applaud for this major action. It was very enjoyable to talk to people for whom this was their first large balloon event. I was stopped many times to be asked many questions about the event, balloons, people.... Even though it slowed my trek through the balloons taking pictures it was worth stopping and chatting. I really hope these folk come back out again.

I didn't expect to be able to get out both days and day two looked real dicey there for a bit. I drove onto the field and parked on the edge of the Southern center road and prepped the video cameras inside the cab only to decide to move. Yeah.. I was watching a long flag on a truck East of me and it was seriously streaming South to North.

So I moved to the North end of the field and set up......and......the winds changed again..... I ended up exactly where I started from. I needed to have the truck there so that I could have the video cameras running looking North to catch the balloons coming towards and over... and do it securely as I didn't want to have to hover around the cameras.. I wanted to wander around the field.. so the best way to do that was to lock them in the truck and go wader. Too bad I didn't think that people would park in front of me and occlude my view... Oh well.. It was a side thing anyways.

Yesterday or Saturday I forgot my dual camera harness so I was juggling cameras.. today I had the harness and that made it easy to switch cameras. I had a heck of a good time with the 10.5 fisheye on the D300 camera. What I am going to post below are the take from that camera and lens. The shots are awesome.

Day 2 became an almost elevator day with steerage. It worked out for my nicely and I think the Pilots had a good time too. Yeah.. I didn't get to fly. but yeah... I usually don't off Fiesta Park unless its Fiesta.

Another thing.... The family of Adams balloons were out on the North West corner on the first day. I got some great up the throat shots.. Posting them first.. then some others... Here we go...













They are all Pop A Tops... yeah.. ask me about that sometime.... excellent time.

Not all that they have built at the new facility here in Albuquerque but some nice colors and designs.

One of the fun things about this fish eye is that it is so very fishy that you can get your own face in the shot unless you are very very careful.... I did it once. Had to get the shot and had to just be in the shot.

Other things it gets fun shooting.... and forget what up / down / left / right is....





Such a sweet spot on this Nikon lens. Oh.. and these are the shots just from Day 1. Many more to process. I grabbed my favorites.. and I will go abck and check through for others.

I didnt even load any of the D7100 with 18 200 mm lens.... Something like 1800 shots over two days.

Oh! I did get some good video on day one... Day two is a bit messy with vehicles in front of the cam and the windscreen reflected a lot of sunlight so its not so good... but I will do something with it .. some time....... something sometime...

Yeah...


I did get to spend some serious quality time with my granddaughter.... So is awesome too... noisy when she is wet or hungry .. but who wouldn't be.

Tomorrow is a holiday and I have some things to do but maybe I can get something other than F4 done.... hahaha.. I have high hopes!

Superbowl Sunday Short Shrift.

Sitting here watching the Superbowl on my computer. Its clearer.. I can watch it while editing, posting, playing on the xbox without moving my eyes too far left or right. Mostly I want to watch the commercials. Only a few more stinkers so far.. SkwareSpace was real bad. The friend one was bad but not as bad.... I also have dog on lap.. or legs... breaking them slowly.

Okay.. dog adjusted.. or foot rest adjusted so my legs aren't being bent backwards by 18 lbs of dog.

X-Files is back... the first episode was seriously off..... Second was hilarious.. They need to get it tighter on the serious ones in the future. The same.. see everything..everything disappears crap is old.

Wow... convertabley sad advert.... Where are the good ones?The game is better than the commercials.

I keep stacking net tabs now. THen I just delete them. I saved them from yesterday out of defiance of my closing and cleaning thing.

And that was about it. The other things were so stupid as to be a total waste of netspace.

Ballooning has been very idle... No interest in it much at all. Too cold..too tired....

WOW.. The commercials suck.. Bud Light.. really bad... bad bad bad.... stupidly badly bad.

But saying that ( ballooning ) we did get out and install a new thermistor line in Kiss A Hoy. It was too fickle wind wize to get her up or in the air. But it got done.

Home ground it was refill the pond.... sigh.. This entails untangling three hoses.. lining them up from the garage to the pond in back and attaching them and getting the water on. Since the back wall tap is leaky and its the winter I do not want to use it at all. Every movement created a tangle or a trip or a frustration. While the pond was filling it was time to pull items out of the trailer and put them in the garage and from the garage things needed to be moved to the shed that should have been moved months ago but ... wow.. wernt.

Hyundai commercial was funny...

Yeah.. so.. lots of stuff done while the pond filled including some very bokeh shots of the Lindstrand basket... yes... wow... took pictures of something other than an xbox screen.. woah!

Super Stickers. Still on and nice and shiny on these retro looking tanks.

Yeah.. a few.... Yeah I didn't have to go far to take them.. but yeah.. I like them... Oh.. one more.. I forgot.

Tanks are full but will wait a few more weeks... sigh. Yes there is dust on them. I do not have a basket cover. No I am not going to clean just to take one picture. Yes its still awesome.

There.. and one other thing.. My Granddaughter is Awesome too.... I didn't get to see her today since there are people under the weather in the house so... no baby today... One and only ( hopefully for you ) selfie with her.

She is super cool and now has her eyes open most of the time.. even working on getting control of her head.... not bad for so young. Hoping next weekend we get some baby visit time.

Off I go to watch the remaining time on the Sbowl. We fun.

FALLOUT 4 Capture and Create

Hay! Its a Saturday Blog post! Woah! CHANGE: Since XboxDrive refused to load shots I couldn't complete this Saturday.. So I am finishing it Sunday.

OKay... I am posting a saturday Sunday F4 version just to load up all the screenshots of Fallout 4 I have taken lately.

I did some major reconstruct to the Red Rocket Station... mainly to see if it was possible and also to have a bit of fun with all the supplies I have built up over the last bunch of runs. I figured if I didn't like what I made I could just load an earlier version and go back to the start of what I had done. What turned out was pretty impressive. After adding a massive amount of lighting and other little touches what I ended up with was pretty grand. Okay.. Ill post and comments as I go.

The original clipped from the nets since I have already modified it insanely.


Low oblique Shot. Very classic. This was after I removed the old wood walls and put down the 1 and 1/2 cement block foundation wall. I added the watch tower when I first set up the spot. Not that I am allowing any settlers in since they usually walk off with things or sleep in your bed. I set up a nice place to live in the top.


A view to Sanctuary. I did build a full wall around Sanctuary too. A lot of cement and a massive ton of wood and ridiculous amount of patience setting foundations down and working around the stuff that wont allow you to build on or over to make a completely unbroken wall. Added two water filter plants and lighted every house.

As you walk up the hill you get to view the massive steel cube on a huge foundation. Ill have to repaint that sign to say... Abandon All Hope Ye Who Pass Here.


Fully enclosed in a massive steel cocoon. Completely covered both the tower and the rocket. So much steel and so much wood and cement but it got done and I had supplies left over. Now.. what to do about the tower. Its in the way.... it has its own roof... I cant see all my armor.

Wiped out the tower. Okay. I stored ever tiny bit of it and I hope the game remembers what I had.. cause there is a lot in the files. The bridge across the Red Rocket station was to make it easier to cross and climb quickly. Generators are in the corners at the moment.

Tower is gone, gone, gone. Now it is where to put the stairs and how.. then.... and I wished there was an easier way... move every piece of armor up a level to be clear from the roofline of the station. Had to move the lighting and change it as the wall lights would not connect easily to the wood edge of the balconies.

Sunday with more shots loaded. Stupid XboxDrive.

Armor in correct position using drop lights to illuminate and locate the center of the squares to make it easier to position each set of armor. Nice glow on the roof of the station. I even illuminated the backside of the Red Rocket signs.

I removed the watch tower from the center since it blocked the 360 degree view of the Armor level but I needed someplace to relax and bide my time between assault runs. I decided to drop two levels down and float it off the back wall. 

Since there was a massive steel roof above there was no reason to put a roof on the living area. Nice view from the top balcony into the living area. Nice and subdued. Very wide ( 4 ) attachment to the back wall.

A view from the other side at the level of the overlook. The whole thing didn't take long to do as I had already thought about the way it needed to be constructed...it did take a long time to move all the armor and get it in the right places. The Raider armor is under the overlook with the center frame the stolen version from some raiders. I do not know why it marked it stolen but its the only set I left in armored. T45, T51 are on the left and T60 and X-01 are under and to the right. Now I have found more X-01, though missing parts, its now standing around the build frame below the Rocket ramp.

WHEW!

Below are the main weapons I carry. They are the best of the best of the best.. Sir.. or its what I consider the best.

Serious explosions, Serious damage ( Ive shot so close to myself that I have damaged myself.. oops )

When you need to say "HI!" from real close or real far away.. many many times quickly. Kicks butt.

 If you want to keep it quieter and farther you can locate quickly the idiots that refuse to behave.

 If you have to speak loudly once why not thrice? Add some major radiation damage on top and we are good. Rarely used now but if I have time and space.. yup.

A poke in the eye. I rarely use this too. The laser kinda points back to you when fired so for stealth destruction.. not so much.

 A new addition and Ive fire it once or twice. Big, heavy, loud, bright..... Its a big knock on the door.

I usually carry massive amounts of stuff so I have more weapons but these are the go to's.

Done.. almost..

One of the irritating things going on in the game now is that your companions get in the way or create situations you do not what.. In two lines right now my companion has initiated attacks of friendlies that have caused failures of storylines. I am going to stop dragging them along and see how that works out. Usually I only use them for a misdirection for attacks anyways.

X-01 armor on the Constitution before Strong went and got an attitude and started shooting people and getting me shot at. Idiot.

Last but not least. the huge tree in Sanctuary.. I wanted it lighted.. now its got lights.

Enough for now. Have to decide what I want to do while waiting for X-01 armor parts to show up at Mad Cats... and I want to do a blog post with no Fallout 4 in it. Which is next.
